As an Experience Early Learning Blog Ambassador, we receive the Experience Early Learning preschool curriculum in exchange for sharing our honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, our opinions on amazing things for children are 100% our own. Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best judgement when planning activities for your children.
This week we're learning about air with topics such as floating in air, flying in air, breathing in air, colors in air, and listening to air. We had so much fun with this week's activities.
Today I wanted to share a glimpse at our entire week with this wonderful preschool curriculum! Keep reading to learn more about what a typical week looks like with Experience Early Learning (formerly Mother Goose Time).
Floating in Air
What can you find floating in the sky? Today the preschoolers made a Hot Air Balloon craft, explored a fun Float & Catch STEAM station, and made Objects in the Air with shape design mats and link strips.
Make & Play activities are always a huge hit in our preschool classroom. Not only do the children have the opportunity to get creative and practice fine motor skills, but they're making something they can use for dramatic play. Today we put different objects in our hot air balloon basket and took them on a floating adventure.
Flying in Air
Today meant making a Bee Disc craft, reviewing number skills with a Fly Away Bird game, and practicing phonological awareness by creating a Flying Path from flying objects to their beginning sounds.
Breathing in Air
This lesson included a Scented Bag craft, a Nature Matching math activity, and an opportunity to Exercise & Breathe with our daily STEAM station. We also read our Get Close to Nature! book.
Each month, Experience Early Learning sends us a beautiful picture book focused on the monthly topic and this month we received "A Guessing Book." The children were shown a closeup of something from nature and then asked What Am I? The next page answered the question and shared some fun facts.
Colors in Air
We listened to "I See A Rainbow" from our Dancing on an EcoVenture CD, worked on our Nature Book journals, and practiced language and literacy skills while exploring our nature word wall cards.
Listening to Air
We had lots of fun practicing our listening skills today! The preschoolers created a Nature Postcard, worked on a Listen & Color literacy activity, and made Thunder Patterns during center time today.
The math and literacy activities that are included in our preschool curriculum kit are perfect for teaching important early learning skills in a fun and hands-on way. Every month's theme includes lots of activities that we can use during centers or even small group time. And of course, the children love exploring the new materials for each theme.
Don't forget to join us next week as we explore water with our EcoVenture theme from Experience Early Learning (formerly Mother Goose Time).
