As an Experience Early Learning Blog Ambassador, we receive the Experience Early Learning preschool curriculum in exchange for sharing our honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, our opinions on amazing things for children are 100% our own. Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best judgement when planning activities for your children.
Today we started Week 3 of All About Me from Experience Early Learning (formerly Mother Goose Time), which focuses on Clothing.
Shirts can have buttons, snaps, pockets, or collars. We can fold shirts into different shapes. Some shirts have long sleeves and some have short sleeves.
Our read-aloud for today was Froggy Gets Dressed and the kiddos really enjoyed it. It was definitely one of those predictable stories that the preschoolers could really relate to.
The children loved today's Fashion Design creative art too. They each had the opportunity to make their own shirt design.
Experience Early Learning included the t-shirts and buttons that could be punched out as well as yarn to sew on the buttons.
This activity was so much fun! The preschoolers created their own unique designs using crayons and markers. And of course, we practiced lots of important early learning skills in the process.
The kiddos had the opportunity to explore visual arts, creative thinking, and fine motor skills.
When the children were finished, we hung up each of the t-shirts on our art display line, which is similar to a clothesline.
Because of the pandemic, we still have some of our school-aged kiddos with us and I love watching the preschoolers learn from the older children.
There are so many valuable lessons to be learned from coloring techniques to pattern-making and everything in between.
I truly love watching the children work together and make beautiful art inspired by the activities in this amazing preschool curriculum.
Don't forget to check back next week to see what we're up to! We're going to be learning about how to stay healthy with Experience Early Learning (formerly Mother Goose Time) and we seriously can't wait to started!
