Soapy Water Activities for Preschoolers
As an Experience Early Learning Blog Ambassador, we receive the Experience Early Learning preschool curriculum in exchange for sharing our honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, our opinions on amazing things for children are 100% our own. Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best judgement when planning activities for your children.
This week's topic from Experience Early Learning (formerly Mother Goose Time) is Soapy Water, which means learning all about Bath Time, Washing Dishes, Car Wash, Laundry, and Bubbles!
We made Foam Soap, explored sponges, and even made our very own car washes.
On Monday, while learning about Bath Time, we made Foam Soap using water and dish soap. The children had a wonderful time exploring physical science skills and also being creative as they made foam soap designs.
This activity from Experience Preschool was also a great way to strengthen fine motor skills. And of course, the preschoolers love all things sensory play. This month's Bubbles, Boats, & Floats theme is full of fun and engaging activities that are perfect for practicing lots of important early learning skills.
Another favorite activity this week was the Car Wash Make & Play.
Each child was given a colorful printable that included a carwash and play money. We discussed how car washes work and how a carwash is a service that people pay for.
Our class had the opportunity to practice so many skills with this activity. We worked on counting and number sense, civics and economics, and much more.
And while we're on the subject of car washes, we also made a jumbo car wash in our classroom using a large box and streamers. The children had an absolute blast playing car wash together during center time.
Don’t forget to check back next week to see what we’re up to with Experience Early Learning (formerly Mother Goose Time).
